‘Grass Weed Manager of the Year’

We are very proud to announce that Edward Banks has won Syngenta’s Grass Weed Manager of the Year award.

The award, which is organised by Syngenta and in its second year, is designed to recognise that rising to the challenge of grass weeds can be crucial when managing a modern farm business, not just for short-term profitability but for longer-term viability of the whole farm.

By re-evaluating the way we were tackling our ever increasing black grass problem, it has led us to implementing a ‘Whole farm Approach’ which has been much more effective. This has included basic changes in cultural control methods and rotations, as well as innovations such as our band sprayer.

Russian Farm Visit

Inspection of new John Deere Tractors at Langar

A great day was had by all when a group of 10 Russian farmers visited us at Thomas Banks and Partners organised by Tom Robinson of Syngenta. The group first went for a tour of the John Deere site at Langar before coming to Harlton to have a tour of our facilities. They were particularly interested in the precision farming aspect of the farm and were very intrigued by the band sprayer and OSR drill.
